Is Your Breakfast Sabotaging Your Weight Loss Goals?

When we think of breakfast, many people picture sugary cereals, fruit-filled yogurt, or toast with jam. While these options may be quick and convenient, they can lead to a mid-morning energy crash, increased cravings, and even that dreaded 3 PM slump.

What if I told you there’s a better way to start your day—one that keeps your blood sugar stable, reduces cravings, and helps you power through the afternoon with steady energy?

The answer lies in having a savoury, high-protein breakfast.

My Go-To Savoury Breakfast: Chicken Zucchini Patties

Ingredients:

  • 1kg organic chicken mince

  • 1 large grated zucchini

  • 1 large grated carrot 

  • 2 diced spring onions

  • 2tbsp grated fresh ginger (yes it must be fresh this is the burst of flavour) 

  • 2tsps turmeric powder 

  • a good amount of salt & pepper 

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees, and line tray with baking paper 

  2. Prep the Veggies: Grate the zucchini and squeeze out excess water using a paper towel. Chop the spring onions. 

  3. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the chicken mince, grated zucchini, spring onions, turmeric, ginger, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

  4. Shape Patties: Form the mixture into small patties.

  5. Cook: Cook in hot oven for about 25minutes or until cooked through.

  6. Serve & Enjoy: Serve with rocket, GF precinct toast or add to your salad with 1/4 avocado.

    Optional to drizzle of mingle BBQ sauce for extra flavour!
